24 December 2002
Thank you for your interest in and / or support of Casting Couch Productions in 2002. We maintained our average of one show per calendar year with our successful production of "IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER" by Paul Osuch in April (the Company’s third production). It is intended to match or better that total in 2003!
The Company's next production is "Catharsis" by Greg Eccleston, @ a venue & dates to be confirmed. Happy to announce that preparations for the follow up have already started. This will require a large cast & I hope that it will be ready for late next year. The working title is (a-hem) "Girlfriend #33 Stole My Mojo".
Best wishes to you @ this festive time & be careful -- 80% of cracker-pulling injuries are alcohol related...

8 November 2002

9 October 2001

Casting Couch Productions is alive and well and still planning for upcoming productions. These are likely to be "In No Particular Order", a collection of short plays by Paul Osuch; followed by "Catharsis", the début play by Greg Eccleston. Both of these plays were recently read @ Wayside Theatre to enthusiastic response and are scheduled for some time in 2002. We recently had submissions rejected by Darlinghurst Theatre… Everything happens for a reason.
But I have a cunning plan… TAP Gallery has been booked by the Company for three weeks in April 2002 and for four weeks in July 2002. So pending other submissions to Belvoir Street Theatre, Stables Theatre and also Darlinghurst, we still have two solid runs booked in and happening.

2 October 2001

Casting Couch Productions (Registered Business #BN97834630 -- cool, eh?!) is excited to be holding its first PLAY READING next month and hereby invites actors on our Mailing List to participate and all interested parties to attend.
"In No Particular Order" is expected to be the Company's next production, a collection of short plays by Sydney-via-Brisbane playwright Paul Osuch. The reading is tentatively scheduled for Monday 24th September 2001 @ 7:00 p.m., with a rehearsal on Monday 17th September.
There are six plays, with a total of twenty-one characters, all to be enthusiastically performed by three busy female actors and three gorgeous male actors, of various age ranges between eighteen and forty-ish (sounds like a Contiki tour)...
If you are interested, please let me know A.S.A.P. via E-Mail ONLY and preferably include your latest CV.
P.S. Don't forget to see Greg Eccleston in "The Authorised Version" @ TAP Gallery 5th through 15th September. More details here; http://members.optusnet.com.au/~uftproductions/authorised.htm

16 August 2001

Very exciting time here @ Casting Couch Productions. We currently have three productions in the submission stage, including the Australian première of a collection of short plays by Brisbane playwright Paul Osuch and also the revival of a contemporary Australian classic, featuring the work of a prominent Sydney director. The third production in the works is the début play by Greg Eccleston, although it could be several months before that is ready, but I am Big Kev excited.
More details once production gets underway (including Auditions). Here is some more news regarding some of our much-loved cast + crew (and me)…;
Scott Hall-Watson and myself are both working on a commercial for "Razzamatazz" stockings (uh-oh), filming tomorrow & Saturday. Scott ('bank customer') is fast becoming an old hand at this sort of thing, but as for me ('Cop'), this is my first TVC (Television Commercial) and I am, yes, excited.
Kerith Atkinson is featuring in "Dark Heart", playing @ beloved TAP Gallery, Wednesdays through Saturdays until 1 September. Bookings 9328 4120.
Josie Perricone is marrying Rio in exactly 16 days time. But who's counting?!
Yours truly (i.e. me) is performing in the play "The Authorised Version" being produced by The Factory Fringe Space Theatre Company. Performances @ THE FACTORY; Unit 6, #32 Campbell Avenue, DEE WHY on Saturday @ 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and Sunday @ 5:30 p.m. through August. Wednesdays through Saturday @ TAP Gallery in September. BOOK NOW on 9439 1906. A tale of lust, death and cricket balls…
Independent Theatre Companies such as this can only exist with your support. Plus, if you come and see me and tell me how fantastic I was, maybe I will cast you in an upcoming Casting Couch Productions…!

13 July 2001

No huge Production news to speak of. My call for a script for future Casting Couch Productions yielded several good submissions, but nothing which excited me enough to want to produce it. Still open to further submissions, but it is looking more like the next show will be on maybe in 2002…
So instead here is some news regarding some of our much-loved cast + crew (and me)
Scott Hall-Watson has been a busy boy lately. He is appearing on our screens in an ad for Toohey's "Maxim" and also as a paramedic on Channel Seven's "All Saints", screening on Tuesday 24 July.
There have also been several sightings of Kerith Atkinson in television-land recently, but I can not confirm the details.
Josie Perricone is marrying Rio in exactly 50 days time. But who's counting?!
No idea what Judy Howard is up to. Ha!
Lisa Jayne Wood no longer works @ FAME advertising, so delete that E-Mail address if you have it. And do give her a call if you have any work for her…!
Yours truly (i.e. me) is currently in rehearsals for a play "The Authorised Version" being produced by The Factory Fringe Space Theatre Company. To be performed @ their space in Dee Why in August and also for a run @ TAP Gallery in September. I will provide further details once Opening Night gets closer…
Yours truly is also making his long-awaited (by me) début on the Belvoir Street Theatre stage on 29 July. Two weekends from now. This is as part of the TheatreSports® "Suburb of Origin" Season. I am quite excited about this and it would be great if I had a squad of madly cheering fans supporting me! Failing that, it would be nice if I had people I know there to see me fail miserably. Tom Simmons may also be playing that night. Sunday 29 July @ 8:30 p.m.
In other news, I attended the Opening of Darlinghurst Theatre last night. Their new space (in Potts Point) is nothing short of magnificent and I was shaking my head in amazement that such a beautiful venue now exists on the site which I was helping attack with a sledgehammer less than six short months ago. Darlinghurst Theatre is a wonderful group, a veritable beacon in the inner-city Theatre scene, and all future productions truly deserve your full support. Hopefully, one day in the future you will be receiving an E-Mail advising of a Casting Couch Productions being performed in this wonderful space.

8 June 2001

Casting Couch Productions, fresh from the success of "Lovepuke" @ TAP Gallery in April, is looking for a script for its next production.
Anticipated performance date is October 2001. All submissions will be considered, including original material by unpublished playwrights (License fees to be negotiated). Ideally (but not necessarily), the work would fit into *most* of the following categories;
Comedy Contemporary Australian Six to eight characters

Please reply to this E-Mail address if you can assist. Thank you for your attention.

4 June 2001

Congratulations to Judy Howard, who makes a brief appearance in "Moulin Rouge". "Well done"! Sadly, I have to report that my much-anticipated alleyway scene with Geoffrey Rush in the upcoming film "Lantana" has been left 'on the floor'. So please BOYCOTT this bloody movie (just kidding!).
SHAMELESS PLUG: Yours truly is making (yet another) return to the stage tomorrow night Tuesday 5 June. I will be performing improvised comedy @ TheatreSports® "Scared Scriptless" @ KAOS Comedy Restaurant, Ramsgate. Also performing is everybody's favourite wanker Tom Simmons.
This is the *first* TheatreSports show @ this new venue & it promises to be dynamic (+ it needs your support!). Here are the details, be excited! I sure am: KAOS COMEDY RESTAURANT / 191 Ramsgate Road, Ramsgate / (02) 9583 1177 / (1800) 634 926. Show starts @ 8:00 p.m., tickets $11.00. It would be lovely for you to see us there!

14 May 2001

Congratulations to Hillary Morton & Judy Howard, who recently shone in "Whale Music" @ TAP Gallery. "Well done"!
SHAMELESS PLUG: Yours truly is making (another) return to the stage tomorrow night Tuesday 15 May. I will be performing improvised comedy @ TheatreSports® "Scared Scriptless" @ The Bridge Hotel, Rozelle. Also performing are everybody's favourite wanker Tom Simmons + Darlinghurst Theatre's redoubtable Andrew MacKenzie (a welcome recent addition to Scared Scriptless ranks).
Show starts @ 8:00 p.m., tickets are $11.00. It would be lovely for you to see us there!

7 May 2001

The unfortunate people who have the unenviable task of following us @ TAP Gallery are the cast + crew of "Whale Music". This opens tomorrow night & only plays until Saturday (including a Saturday matinée). The cast includes the very wonderful Judy Howard and our one-time SM Hillary Morton.

20 April 2001

"Lovepuke" Cast, Crew or Supporter,
After a short but furious and trés exciting three-week Season, "Lovepuke" closes *tomorrow* night 21/4. Thanks to some fanTAStic final week audiences (including at least two SOLD OUT performances), my début production has been declared to be "A stunning success!" (by me).
You are invited to the Closing Night PARTY, which will take place @ the 'Ercildoune' Rooftop -- 85 Elizabeth Bay Road -- tomorrow night after the show. Festivities will commence @ about 10:00 p.m. There IS a contingency plan in case of rain. Please phone me when & if you require directions & / or access.
The party will go till 'late' and will be fully catered (pizza & beer sound good?). Watch me piss the entire proceeds up against a wall!
Love ya work!
Regards,
Greg Eccleston
Director

Casting Couch Productions

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Jacqueline Archer, Greg Eccleston, Kyri Frame, Sean Genders, Josie Perricone & John Webb founded Casting Couch Productions in August 2000.
Their first production was John Patrick Shanley’s "The Big Funk" @ TAP Gallery in September / October 2000, featuring all founding members, with the exception of Greg. "Lovepuke" by Duncan Sarkies in April 2001 was the Company’s second production & while featuring just one original cast member, the Casting Couch Productions banner survived (we like the name). "IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER" a collection of five new short plays by Paul Osuch, was the Company’s third production, in April 2002. Our most recent production was "Catharsis" by Greg Eccleston, @ TAP Gallery, Darlinghurst in June 2003. "Catharsis" was also our second consecutive World Première.
The Company exists in order to provide opportunities for committed and enthusiastic actors to work on stage in Sydney and for Australian playwrights to have their work performed. And to entertain you. That’s all.
